Thast is identical to the Iranian ruler of Iraq- Ayatollah sistany, who speaks Arabic with a Persian accent, sleeping with the Americans in th esame bed , issueing fatwas not resist the occupation, not condemning the Irani death squads working in Iraq. And the last crime of the Iranian shameful bastard was to support the security deal between the Irani government of Iraq and the Americans
Well I don't think its shameful to have the Mufto meet with Perez. We have to start a dialogue and also try to pressure Israelis to ease the embargo on the Palestinians, but I have my doubt that he even did discuss this with Perez. I can't say more as I know less
Ali, It is completely shameful. Perhaps you haven't heard of a place called Gaza and of what is happening there now? It is the systematic starvation of a people by a modern, industrialised "democracy" under the eyes of the so-called "civilized" world. As a Sheikh, he should know haram from halal and worry about his soul.
Maysaloon, accusing me of not knowing baout Gaza is an understatement as I blog about this issue alot and I have many Americans who are trying to help and send money to Gaza.
I was saying that I don't know what the Mufti discussed with Perez and I doubt that he put any effort to start with to ease restrections on Palestinains.
Ali, thanks for calling Tantawi a "Mufto" - you really made me laugh, more than once!
Maysaloon - seems like you're "crazy" for publishing this picture. And so what if Tantawi shook hands with Peres, huh? So what? What siege are you on about anyway? Ref Tantawi's remarks on http://www.elaph.com/Web/Politics/2008/12/389331.htm
For would-be collaborators out there - I'm being tongue in cheek. Do I have to spell it out? Seems so!
Thanks for staying sharp Maysaloon. Seems it's harder to maintain your capacity to actually see things as they are in this world, than to just submit to others and in so doing, go blind.
Sorry - I couldn't evade the re-visit: Check this out, seems some Egyptians haven't forgotten that Gaza is under siege; meanwhile, it seems the very same authorities that pay the Mufto, as your guest Ali likes to call him, are busy cracking down on them: http://arabist.net/arabawy/2008/12/06/crackdown-on-pro-gaza-activists/
