Russian Red Army Choir - Song of the Volga Boatmen (1965)

The old Marxist in me really misses this stuff. There is something sad about the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since 1990 the world has changed so much, and I think for the worse.

أمنية, عم يحكي روسي. أنتي بتعرفي روسي شي؟
لكن شو حشرك تسمعي الغنية؟

Nobody,
That might explain a lot actually.

What might that explain? I would rather say that it can be explained by your generally distorted perception of modern and current history. You are simply picking a song here, an episode there and construct highly romantic and absolutely detached from the reality notions of things. The Soviet Union was a boring and dull place, an Orwellian 1984 that quickly turned into a stagnating and powerless monochrome ruled by a senile gerontocracy. People were fleeing it just to see some color.

"Generally distorted perception of modern and current history"...coming from an Americanist who supports Israel's right to exist, that is very rich.

Israel has no more right to exist than your beloved Syria that at the first opportunity will go the way of the former Yugoslavia. However, if you want to talk, talk. I don't mind talking. Talk to me but don't bullshit me "an Americanist who supports Israel's right to exist" nonsense. You know, if we start another verbal duel, I will soon flush you down the tube. I have little respect for Aborigines and their indigenous cultures. I am no Western Academy.
