"Obama pledges support for Israel", but that isn't what caught my eye. In criticising the current administrations policies in the 'Middle East', "He said the war in Iraq had emboldened Iran, which posed a real, grave danger". Nonsense, personally what I think is unacceptable is that the Western consumer is now having to walk, instead of drive, because of high oil prices. After 5 years of occupying Iraq and Americans get this? $130 a barrel?

Obama's speech really put me off him today- I thought there was some hope for a decent American president...pipe dreams

Arima, I did feel exactly the way you did after the speech but don't think we need to lose hope on Obama! Remember he has to BECOME president yet and without kissing the boot of AIPAC from every possible direction in one way or another he has no chance whatsoever!

I HOPE it will be the way Nixon dealt with the issue of moving the Israeli Embassy to Jerusalem ... once he was firmly in the Oval Office, he decided "conditions had changed" and would thus refrain from doing so! Smart guy ...

I am quite confident Obama is well aware of what needs to be done ... and won't shy away from it! If I have ANY faith in ANYONE at all - it's him!
