Observations on the Oud.

There is such a beauty in watching Farid al Attrash play his Oud. As someone who is still being dominated by this marvellous instrument of wood and strings, I recognise how Farid see's it for what it is. He compels it to behave as he envisions, taking complete control of this wooden instrument to produce marvelous tunes. The Oud with Farid is no longer the star attraction, the star is Farid who has bent it to his will. It will be sometime before I get the better of this "stick"...
