Gilad Atzmon on Hedonistic warriors

I don't like activist videos, simply because I'm not interested in showing the "hypocrisy" of the United States, Israel or Europe.Nor in "telling the world" what is "really" happening to civilians in Palestine and the Islamic world - which is a waste of my time. So it was with some hesitation that I checked Morris' video links. But I did and I liked what I saw. A good analaysis of the situation Israel finds itself within. There is no bull excrement here, just a coherent and well articulated point of view.

Wars are won by men - not technology nor activism for that matter. And good men are what you fill their minds with.

Thank you Morris.

I think you are being very unfair by making this statement and ridiculing activists and what they stand for! I was one of them .. and rest assured, I did risk my life for doing what I considered and still consider the right thing! I was, among other things, harrassed, yelled at, discriminated against, tear-gassed and shot at (NOT hit, thank God) and with that strongly resent your notion!

FIRST do the same I did and all those you ridicule do ... then we can talk!

Karin,
I am not an activist, you are. This is not an activist blog and so I don't like to put those kinds of videos on my blog, but you do. I sit on my side of the fence and you have yours. So why come here and kick up a stink over comments you do not understand and haven't the sense to ask about?

The idea that I can only criticise someone like you only if I do what you did is childish. The whole point is that I do not want to do what you do in the first place. What is so difficult about that to understand?

Activism in my opinion is firstly about the activist and secondly about the activist. It is self-gratification for the impotent. Hence the passive nature of your experiences doing what you considered "the right thing", which involved being harrassed, yelled at, discriminated against, et al.

I am not interested in turning the Palestinian cause into a fetish.

You know what? I don't even want to go into that again, all I can tell you is that you are dead-wrong!

To call activist individuals who are out for self-gratification is nothing short of an insult. The Palestinian cause is not a fetish for me ... it was all about the PEOPLE and nothing else! If you don't think this is necessary - I have nothing else to say to you anymore.

Karin,
I think this whole exchange is unfortunate and perhaps unnecessary. I have my own reasons why I don't find activism productive and you have reasons why you do. I hope you could at least allow me that I am expressing my own opinion on my own blog? Even if we do not agree, that does not mean we have to be hostile to one another.

Salam.
