A true Arab hero...

His arm and some ribs have been broken whilst in custody. One of his shoes has more dignity than all the Arab stooges who collaborate with the United States and Israel...

Dear Maysaloon,
I agree completely that Muntathar Al-Zaidi is a hero, and I really love the fact you posted this. I also really love your ta3leeq.
I have just one small comment on the word "custody". Detention is more appropriate.
Much love

Lirun - broken ribs and arm and the possibility of seven years in prison is not exactly the punishment you would expect in a democratic country. I expect a similar punishment would be meted out if he'd done it to Assad. If he'd done it in Syria twenty years ago, or if he'd done it to Saddam Hussain, he'd have been shot, true. But the ugly subtext of people like you or Fox News who make this comment is - why are these Iraqis so ungrateful? We brought them democracy and freedom, didn't we? No you didn't. Perhaps an Iraqi isn't actually killed for throwing shoes at a 'leader' these days, but Iraqis are killed every day for driving too close to US military convoys, or for crossing into an area controlled by the wrong militia, or for making the mistake of drinking tap water. The 'democracy' has produced puppet leaders who don't represent the people, Sunni or Shia. A million people have been killed since the invasion; millions more are refugees. Those ungrateful Iraqis!
One more thing: Saddam Hussain was helped to power by the CIA and supported by the West all through his worst crimes. So less of your disgusting lessojns about freedom, please.
Lucky guy .. I wonder what would have happened to him if he'd been a child throwing stones at an Israeli tank?

It is important to mention here that Montahter Al-Yazidi expressed his contempt for the Iranioan occupation of Iraq. It would be interesting to contrast the Kisses of the Iranian, Abdel Aziz Hakim, stamped on Bush's face with Montather's shoe.

i never called the iraqis ungrateful..

and i dont envy the child whose parents send him out to face an army.. israeli or other..

your sarcasm is lost on me.. i dont delight in anyone's suffering..

there is too much pain in my region for me to engage in that much cynicism..
