"Another unforgettable memory will be Georgia's flak-jacketed president cowering on the ground as a Russian plane flies over the town of Gori. Bravado turning into humiliation is a metaphor for the whole foolish adventure. Georgian men are hospitable and engaging, but fond of bombast and empty macho gestures. Unlike the Chechens, who have fought Russians for centuries, Georgians prefer poetry and vineyards to the challenge of war."

Also live broadcasts over American TV with him saying something like, "It's no longer about Russia and Georgia, it's about America's values!"

Euh...okay?

Ayman,
If that were true then why do we make the West so nervous? Why does Israel need nuclear weapons to defend itself? Think, and remember who we are.

oh wassim, you and your ridiculous nasserism. when are you going to grow up? your refusal to acknowledge the posters whose politics you don't agree with is fast becoming my favorite part of this blog. it's so hafizalassadian!

why does israel think it needs nuclear weapons? probably because there are 300 million arabs and 700 million other muslims who have been taught to hate it and think it should be liquidated. you said it yourself - it's a cornered animal. so are you going to give it something to eat, or will you continue to poke it in the eye?

So I'm yet confused as to why why Israel needs nuclear weapons, when it can't use them and hope to survive as a country afterwards, but...

Georgia is an extremely cultured place by all standards, let alone by the standards of such a wild place as the Caucuses. Even today quite a few leading Russian men of arts are actually Georgians and, despite all animosity between Russia and Georgia, Akunin remains one of the most influential modern Russian writers and no self respecting Moscovite can afford himself to miss another Zereteli exhibition.

The downside of having this tiny place capable to project such a tremendous cultural influence beyond it borders, is that Georgians indeed are no Chechens, even though they are addicted to that hyperbolic militant rhetoric which is very common among all peoples of the region. To compare them to the Chechens is pointless as the Chechens are mythologically famous and feared for their militancy and brutality even in such wild places as Dagestan, but it's true that the Georgians have never excelled at being Kamikadzes.

I will tell you who you are. I read occasionally your blog (when I am bored) and it's not hard to see that there is very little Arabic or Islamic in all this. It's mostly borrowings from the more outlandish and eccentric strains of the Western leftist thinking that survives these days only in a few of the more isolated and disconnected from the reality quarters of the Western academy. You may occasionally flavor this stuff with a few themes from the Arabic or Islamic folklore but in all other respects you follow it faithfully to the last T without even bothering to invent your own terminology. I always find it amusing that whether it comes to technology or to their so called "resistance", the Arabs owe it all to the West.

Nobody's stupidity, filth and ignorance goes beyond all limits. When he talks it becomes clear that he never tires of poking his head inside that hairy spot of his where the sun never shines, at times though, the scum manages to slip it out only to spew his mental well-written diarrea all over the blogsphere.

I am surprised by your words, amre. I remember how in the good old days when we were friends you told me that I am way more intelligent and has more sense of humor than Iranians. Howcome you call me now stupid and ignorant??!! you don't like me anymore?

i dont remember the last time we relied on nuclear weaponry for our defence..

interesting hwvr that in the midst of all the wonderfully substantial confidence in the muslim world that there is now a quasi overt race for mid east countries to establish nuclear capabilities to deal with the tiny jewish slither of land.. not to mention fractional population..

Interesting that people confuse electricity with weapons. But if a power plant is really a threat to Israel and, you know, the "free world", then...

Lirun said...

which is why syria wont show anyone what it was building and why iran wouldnt let inspectors stay and check it out as required by the treaty to which they subscirbe..

yeah generally those who comply have no concern with undertaking an audit to which they agreed upfront.. clearly this is not one of those cases..

Lirun said...

btw are the missiles and the long range planes for energy too?

what about the threats? are they harnessing the thermal output? is energy the answer to everything?

Lukas said...

As far as I know the Islamic Republic has complied with all IAEA requests and Ayatollah Khamenei himself has admitted the utter uselessness of nuclear weapons in today's world. Meanwhile, Israel is known to have a certain number of undeclared nuclear weapons, makes just as many threats, carries out just as many drills, and has a history of actually being an aggressor state. Why the double standard?

Lirun,

On the 8th of october 1973 also known as the black Monday with Israel losing 3 armoured brigades in sinai to farmer infantaries equipped with RPG. Golda mobilised the Nuclear forces of Israel, and it was made clear to Egypt that if it advances to the straits,Israel will nuke Port said.

Recheck your facts.

Nobody,

Back then in our conversation at Isis's blog where I was tryin to talk her out of visting the Israeli enemy.. then you came along with your Israeli freiends where we hada long conversation and I denied any conection between the Jewish people living in Israel now a days and the hbrew tribes. And I confirmed that for an enemy you are more humerous than Iranians.

Nobody said...

Amre

You mix things up. I don't know any Isis and don't care if anybody comes to visit Israel or not. I talked to you only on this blog and mine and that conversation was on this blog. Anyway, don't take it so seriously.

is that the same as being humousous?
