""There are red lines that cannot be crossed when it comes to the territorial integrity of Morocco," Mr Fassi told MPs in Rabat. "
Perhaps someone should point out to Mr Fassi that the red line he refers to might be with regards to the Western Sahara region rather than anything which would upset the sensitive political taste buds of the Spanish government.

Nationalism and idiotic patriotism have become a mantra amongst unpopular and discredited governments like the one now in charge (in appearance only) in Rabat. Although what Mr. Fassi referred to might have some resonance in most of Moroccan people's ears, most of my countrymen know exactly what this new rhetoric means: an attempt to hide the utter lack of substance of the current governmental team.
As for western Sahara, I must admit that although I support the inalienable right of every people for self determination (from western Sahara to Kurdistan) I always campaigned for the Sahrawis to stay within the Moroccan family. Call me hypocrite, chauvinistic... I think that there are already enough little inconsistent countries in our region of the World and I would much welcome a trend toward unification rather than the other way around!

Amr el-abyad;
Have you ever thought of getting some psychiatric help!

Amre,
You talk like that to people again and you are blacklisted from here. You have no argument and I'm starting to get tired of your racist and ignorant rants. Shape up or ship out.

Amr el-abyad;

I didn't expect any more from you.

Just out of respect for the honourable host of this blog, I'll hold my fire this time; but no need for further elucidations, you presented yourself by yourself!

A wonderful comment e-mailed from Manal a Morrocan currently residing in Beirut, thank you Manal and hope to hear more from you soon, I'll brush up my French so I can read your blog:

It's really interesting to read some Moroccan news on a Syrian blog, as a Moroccan recently settled in Lebanon, that's even surprising!! I thought no body in the Middle East would be interested in knowing what's going in the other part of the Arab world! –Some here, don't even consider Morocco as an Arab country-
Great to see that you're even making comments on the event, giving your own opinion on our prime minister's red lines!
Ceuta and Melillia are a very thorny topic, I won't comment on what has been done and what should have been done, I'd just say that I felt that Juan Carlos' visit woke us up from a deep sleep that lasted for ages…
I saw that you're interested in the Arab world in general, so I'll definitely pass by this space again…
nice day wassim!

I don't have a blogger account, actually I had by I forgot the password ;-)

Best regards from Beirut,
Manal
