Nabil Sukkar's name keeps coming up in many articles whenever there is a discussion on Syria's economy. Here is a recent quote from him on Time Magazine:

"Syria is a virgin country, like China was 20 years ago," says Nabil Sukkar, one of the country's leading economic reformers. "No matter what you do, you find gold."

Really? Perhaps he should read the latest statements made by Alan Greenspan:

"Do you feel that your ideology pushed you to make decisions that you wish you had not made?"
Greenspan replied: "Yes I found a flaw. I don't know how significant or permanent it is, but I've been very distressed by that fact."
