Levant News, the Syrian opposition news portal based in the UK has reported the following: The Canadian police force has apologised to Maher Arar and his family for providing inaccurate information to the American government that led to his arrest while en-route through New York.

Arar was "extraordinarily renditioned (or is it rendered?)" to Syria where he was tortured for a year. This was when Syria was in America's good books, now of course the United States sends it's suspects to other countries to be tortured.
